Hello! My name is Jaimee and I am the founder of The CBR Woman. I am also a makeup artist, entering my third year of a media and communications degree at UC and have a big passion for social media, marketing and PR.
My business is basically designed to empower other women, in business and life in general. To create opportunities to showcase their brands and network with other local women.
Opening Canberra and surrounds up to opportunities that you see more in cities like Melbourne and Sydney.
What you’re focusing on for the rest of the year/ early 2021
I have already started to wind down for the year and focus a bit more on my mental and physical health. This was probably one of my biggest downfalls for 2020, I really neglected myself for a bit.
I am at the stage of thinking about events and new launches for early 2021. There will definitely be some new events happening in early 2021. Plus The CBR Woman turns one! Just a baby, but obviously still calls for celebration. I guess my main focus is working with lots of local businesses and women to bring some good vibes to Canberra.
One thing you've learnt from this year?
That it is okay to say no. It is so easy to take so much on board and say yes to everything that comes your way, but this year has really taught me how to prioritise my own needs.
If I don’t give myself some attention to reset and be able to perform my best, then everything could crumble.
At the end of the day, people are usually understanding and accepting if you’re honest with them.
